Registro Abarth founded with international purpose

For a minute there it looked like Abarth wasn’t thinking about the future like it has in previous years. The Punto has disappeared from their range and sales in Europe have been dropping, especially because of the crisis on the Italian market. Fortunately though, things are starting to look promising since a few weeks. There’s the 124 Spider which is to be an iconic model for Abarth. We expect to see the first results of this hot roadster somewhere late 2016. And now there’s the foundation of Officine Abarth Classiche by FCA. This centre in Mirafiori is meant to provide technical and documented support to owners of young and mostly old Abarths. Ferrari and Maserati have been offering this exclusive service for several years already.

But Abarth takes it to the next level. The Officine Abarth Classiche was officially brought to life last week, but it also means the erection of the Registro Abarth. “Was there no such thing yet?” we hear you ask yourself; no, at least not officially. Multiple registers have existed for many years, such as the ones that are affiliated with the Registro Fiat Italiano. But this club has now been given the order by FCA to organize international events and meetings via the new Registro Abarth. The make has been organizing such events single-handedly up to now, but hopes to draw a broader audience with their new initiative.
