Fiat SpA signs a three year sponsorship deal with Juventus
Earlier this morning Andrea Agnelli, John Elkann and Sergio Marchionne have announced Fiat will be Juventus Football Club S.p.A official sponsor for the next three years. In the first year of the deal the name ‘Jeep’ will appear on the shirts of the players. A good way of expressing the multiple relationship Fiat has with the city Turin, the country and their global products. Details of this multi million dollar deal (35 million euro, 11.7 per year) also contains a range of cars for the Italian club. The players can probably keep their Ferrari’s though. The deal will start from the 1st of July 2012, that will effectively be from next season onwards, untill the 30th of June 2015. The bond between the two company’s from Turin is a strong one as Fiat has been major shareholder of the football club for years and Andrea Agnelli (nephew of Gianni Agnelli) is the current president of Juventus.
Despite Marchionne has grew up large part of his childhood in Canada, he admitted that he is a big fan of the club, and not just because of the recently signed contract. “I am a fan of Juventus since I was 5 years old, and I love to visit their matches. And the new stadium is fascinating”.
