Unique Fiat 500 fridge by Smeg
There were already sofas, chairs and tables, and even coffee makers in a 500(L), but now it’s even possible to cool your drinks in true Fiat 500-style with the ‘SMEG 500’. This unique and beautifully designed fridge in ‘Cinquino’-style is the result of a cooperation between Fiat, Smeg and Italia Independent (the design firm of Lapo Elkann). This new wannahave was presented in Paris yesterday. As was already known, the 500 is an infinite source of inspiration. The little Italian car represents a lifestyle. It has for a really long time already, and still does. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time these two Italian brands come together, as Smeg and Fiat already cooperated in the fifties. Just like in many other production locations in Italy, Mirafiori wasn’t only producing cars at the time, but also appliances. Those were the years of incredible economic growth.
This gorgeous refrigerator can be ordered as of next month at www.fiat500design.com (price not yet known). This is of course no product of mass production, being one of the reasons why it was introduced in Concept Store Colette at the Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris yesterday. The list which goes with it doesn’t mention horsepower or consumption, but instead a height of 83cm, width of 125cm and depth of 80cm. Furthermore, this fridge has an A+ energy label, 100l of capacity, 3 separate bottle holders, a compartment for cans and an adjustable thermostat. The SMEG 500 is available in white, red or green (of course).
