Sales prediction Lancia Flavia: 2000 units
Sales of the Lancia Flavia started already. Now the management of this D-segment car speaks about the sales forecast. CEO Saad Chehab mentioned that this car lets you feel the perfect Dolce Vita-feeling. The soft top gives this extra convertible look, in comparison the Chrysler that mostly gets a hard top oversees. Sales president Paolo Gagliardo expects a sales volume of 1000 units till the end of 2012. A few hundred cars are sold in Italy, other markets not included. Predictions for 2013 are rather cautious, between 1600 and 2000 units.
The Lancia Thema sold even worse, 594 units have been sold up till now. A lot behind sales predictions of 10.000 units. This is still better than its predecessor the Thesis (during a strong economy). The Lancia Voyager sells better with 1734 units. This expensive and luxurious MPV sells relatively good under decreasing economic conditions, still consumers find this car attractive. The originally proposed 11,000 units will not be achieved. The predictions for the Flavia are more conscientious.
Bad idea! Dolce Vita my a**! I hope the replacements for these three will be differentiated enough to make them look, feel and drive like Italian cars.
Thema has sold 594 till end of April (plus 6 english/irish 300C which also count to the Lancia department). Unfortunately this is not even Thesis-Sales (about 2.000 a year in average, more at the beginning). I am still hoping for AWD and 8-speed Diesel, though …
Thesis never sold more then 1000 in the first year. From 2005-2007 even less then 500. The official target for the Thesis was 5000. The daily production of this beautyful car at the end was 3 units a day during a few months a year.
Around 16.000 or 18.000 Thesis have been built during “lifetime”. So this must have been more than 1.000 within a year …
