Official: Alfa Romeo 4C will be limited to 2500 units per year

Finally it is official: Fiat SpA has announced the Alfa Romeo 4C will go into full production by May 2013 in Modena and the manufacturer has told production numbers initially will be set at 2,500 per year. At the moment Milanese engineers and technicians are already working on chassis components, engine parts and the bodywork. The first few production models will be presented this September in Paris and January next year in Detroit. By then production mode will be a full 100%.
At the same time we got the confirmation that Maserati, as a consequence, will transfer a great deal of their production to the former Bertone plant in Grugliasco near Turin. As we reported earlier on Maserati has ambitious plans for the future and wants to expand production up to 50,000 by 2015. Investments of around €500 million for the Grugliasco plant are in full swing and it is expected production of a completely new Maserati flagship will start this summer followed by a slightly smaller E-segment one.
