New 2013 Lancia for the C-segment confirmed
Recently a confirmation came out that Chrysler plans a new important market introduction for 2013, that will be highly important to Lancia. Early reports about this started several months ago, when Sergio Marchionne confirmed the name ‘Chrysler 100′ for the American counterpart. Now Automotive News came out with a new confirmation concerning the Italo – American alliance. The basis for this new C-segment will be the new CUSW platform (Compact US Wide), the same platform that is used for the (link) new Fiat Viaggio. The same platform will eventually be used for the all new Jeep and Alfa Romeo SUV. The big question is how the new Lancia will be positioned in the current offerings and what it will be called. The current Delta will remain in production until 2014, so it is likely Lancia will come up with something very different: Fulvia is the first thing that comes up in mind.
Judging by this latest scoop picture, it is not unlikely it could also turn out to be a Delta test version. The length of it, based on a camouflaged Giulietta matches the dimensions of the luxury hatchback from Turin (4.52 m). A coupe and sedan are not excluded.
