It’s only 30 days of waiting till the Fiat Viaggio will be sold in China. The saloon is produced in Changsha and is the first serious attempt by Fiat to gain some success in China. The mid-segment saloon has been produced for over one month now. During the introduction phase, the customer can choose from a 1.4 TJet engine with 120 hp or 150 hp. The entry-level model is available at starting price of just 14.000 euros. The most expensive version will be sold at a price near 20,000 euros.

The sales introduction of the Fiat Viaggio is influence negatively although it has the right features to be successful. Yesterday a fatal accident occurred around the city of Shanghai. In Taicang a Viaggion test car collided at high speed with a motorcyclist, who died instantly. The test vehicle was performing a takeover procedure at high speed on one of China’s wide streets. The two test drivers of the Viaggio were slightly injured. Fiat declared that they regret the incident and that it will cooperate with the authorities for further investigations.
