Fiat will introduce two new models in 2013 on the European market, the base of which will be the Compact Wide platform from the Dodge Dart, also known as the extended platform of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. This was confirmed by Fiat in Detroit. The first model is a saloon car. Production will start in the course of this year in China and it probably will display a lot of similarities with the new Dodge. The second model is going to be a hatchback which is probably going to look like a C-segment Crossover. This last model will not only be produced in China, but also in a factory near Cassino (between Rome and Naples) as soon as the Fiat Bravo will be out of production. With these two new types Fiat tries to increase its market share in the C-segment. With this news it is clear now that Fiat is eager to compete in this segment and does not want to leave it to Alfa Romeo and Lancia. The saloon car that will be build by Guangzhou Automobile will be presented in Beijing this spring.
