Bertone disagrees with Fioravanti concerning Qatar Motorshow

Bertone has suddenly announced that they will not be present at the Qatar Motorshow from the 25th untill the 28th of January. At the moment there is a conflict in the Italian car designers industry, in particularly between Bertone and Fioravanti. Bertone already had problems with Leonardo Fioravanti (picture), the design boss who is also the chairman of the department for coachbuilders of the ANFIA (Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industria Automobilistica) which is the Italian council for the automotive industry. Fiat recently resigned from ANFIA , being a crucial member.
The Italian car designers would turn up big at the Qatar Motorshow in Doha, naturally Bertone would be a significant part of this, but unfortunately they refrained from this show. The reason for this all is that the company from Capri near Turin disagrees with ANFIA policies concerning the involvement of companies for this international exhibition. ANFIA’s intention was to exhibit companies at the Qatar Motorshow under the brand ‘Made in Italy’, including companies that only have an Italian name but have their business in China. Bertone, which itself is also active in China but has its headquarter in northern Italy, thinks that this policy enables companies to participate in something they are not entitled to do. Leonardo Fioravanti is seen as the malefactor in this issue.

Some time ago Fioravanti was addressed by Bertone concerning his alleged cronyism with Fiat Group Automobiles and because of this Bertone thinks he acts to little in the overall interest of the Italian automotive industry, as is also the case in this matter. Investors and visitors who attend the Qatar Motorshow will thus be set without Bertone. The Italian car designer thinks the brand ‘Made in Italy’ is violated.
