Alfa Romeo Giulietta in Asia and ready for Chinese introduction

The Alfa Giulietta has made it to the Asian continent and China is its first stop. Judging by the gear lever this is a version with the smooth Alfa TCT gearbox. It is not quite clear if this particular one is part of a cargo load of Giulietta’s or just a ‘one of’ version for the Chinese Fiat dealers. In any case this will mark the beginning of a come back for Alfa Romeo because Sergio Marchionne recently announced that the Milanese brand, part of FGA’s global strategy, will be introduced in several other Asian markets. From 2013 onwards Alfa will not only penetrate new markets with existing products but also introduce a range of new cars like the 4C and a compact SUV, in its concept stage called ‘Kamal’. It was believed Alfa’s would also be produced in China, but FGA has refrained from that possibility. The Giulietta will be introduced to the Chinese during the Beijing Motor Show later this month, accompanied by the Fiat Viaggio.
Two Italian cars that share a lot of their excellent technical DNA and dynamics. Whilst the Viaggio will be build in China though, the Alfa is still being build in Cassino.
