The new Alfa Romeo 4C will use the 1750 cylinder block, with an impressive 296 hp. The cars total weight will be 850 kg. Alfa Romeo follows a tight schedule till the production version of the RWD, mid-engine, 4C is ready. We now know that the ‘Biscione’ sports car will be introduced exactly one year from now to the American public. The 4C will mainly be used to boost the introduction of the brand Alfa Romeo overseas. Shortly after the introduction of the 4C, the small SUV and the RWD Giulia will make the transition to America. Sadly Europe is not the first priority of the brand from Milan. Surely we expect the car to be available for sales rather soon. The newly developed and very powerful 1750 engine will be a key part within the brand Alfa Romeo and in the whole Fiat-Chrysler group. Sergio Marchionne would have hinted to use this engine also in the SRT version of the Dodge Dart.

That is absolutely remarkable for a car maker like Alfa Romeo and is also remarkable for Fiat Group. In terms of performance, this car sprints from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in less than 5.0 seconds and hits a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph). This turbocharged four cylinder is associated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission to transfer power and torque directly to the rear wheels. So, this is a rear-wheel drive sports car. :wink:
